Building on the foundation established in PG-101 Basic Photography or an equivalent introductory digital photography course, this class digs deeper into the creative controls available to the digital photographer.
We’ll be exploring the nature and quality of a variety of light sources and how to use each to tell your story. We will then introduce you to various methods of modifying light to achieve the effects you’re looking to create.
Explore how lens selection impacts perspective. We will get serious with aperture, ISO, and shutter speed control. Gain a full understanding of the fundamentals of exposure (ISO, aperture, shutter speed), using Manual Mode, Aperture Priority, and Shutter Priority Indoor and low light shooting with-and-without flash, and discover how to use flash to control contrast. Learn also how to capture action and depict motion.
There will be hands-on practice sessions during which you will learn how to control and combine all different camera functions creatively.
